The Salt Sea

On February 10, 2010, in Frostburg, Maryland, I renamed the Dead Sea in Israel to:  The Salt Sea.  By the power and the glory, it was so done.

Be it The Salt Sea now and forever.

The City of Salt, located on the upper west shoreline of The Salt Sea in Israel, has several names.
  • The City of Salt
  • The Salt City
  • Khirbet Qumran, Kh. Qumran, Kh Kumran
  • Qumran
I will construct new scrolls, tablet, etc. for the new name, new and old mappings, and new and old information on The Salt Sea.  The new scrolls, new tablet, etc. will also reflect The Salt Sea's ancient nick name of 'The Sea of Arabath', but the body of water's official and technical name is The Salt Sea, it's ancient official and technical name, as well.

The Salt Sea is very much alive and contians a variety of living things, so The Salt Sea is not dead.  The Salt Sea has even been called Lake Asphaltitis by some, so you would be able to find these previous names for The Salt Sea; however, it is now and forever, The Salt Sea.  Please make note of it.  All NEW maps should reflect this body of water as The Salt Sea and use no other name or reference for this body of water.  Be it there and now, forever, The Salt Sea.  Be it so.

Excerpt from Oxford Bible Atlas, second edition, 1974.
